NEW AND EXCITING NOVEL SET TO DISTRUPT STEREOTYPE OF CARIBBEAN HISTORY
A Portion of Proceeds to Benefit Youth Educational Advances in Haiti
In the 18th century, the world’s wealthiest colony supplied 40% of Europe’s sugar, 60% of the world’s coffee, and millions of pounds of indigo, cotton, and other commodities. At any given time, its primary port sustained over 60 ships, exporting valuables more precious than Brazil’s gold or Mexico’s silver.
This single colony was the French government’s crown jewel; financing the better portion of the king’s navy and supplying more than half of the wealth derived from its colonial empire. Millions of European citizens directly relied upon the trade and commerce derived from the Caribbean island of St. Domingue—today known as Haiti.
This colony was also the site of a slave-led revolt which defeated French, British, and Spanish militaries, and allowed a new nation to arise from the burning embers of the colony, eighty years before final emancipation was won in the United States.
This is the untold story that has long been absent from high school history books and university lecture halls. It is the story of the Haitian people; and a triumphant revolution too far ahead of its time to avoid its tragic end, still unfolding today.
Packed with romance, war, drama, intrigue, political betrayal, and even pirates—this historical fiction novel reveals a heretofore unknown era in the form of an irresistible page-turner.
Learn how a slave army without formal military or political training outmaneuvered the combined might of the world’s most powerful armies, and formed history’s first Black slave republic.
Christopher Meigher; Former President of TIME-LIFE and current owner of QUEST Magazine New York called it “The ultimate non-fiction novel; riveting in its lustful and historic reveals.”
Triumph to Tragedy, Book I covers the roots of the revolution, spanning between the period of 1771-1793, amid the powerful love story of Jean-Baptiste and Marie. The upcoming sequel allows readers to follow the protagonist’s incredible triumphs and heartbreaking tragedy—the effects of which can still be found in present-day Haiti.
Prepare to be educated, entertained, and enlightened.
A portion of all proceeds from Books I and II will benefit the children of Haiti through PRODEV, the Organization for Progress & Development providing quality and transformative education to children living in underserved communities. For more information on PRODEV, visit www.prodevhaiti.org.

This is the untold story of this era, long absent from high school history books and university lecture halls. Packed with romance, war, intrigue, political betrayal, and even pirates—this historical non-fiction novel reveals an unknown period of history in the form of an irresistible page-turner.
